Proudly Serving Marin County Students for 15 Years and Counting!
Sure, we care about your kid’s grades and test scores. But mostly, we care about your kid.
Sage is a community of students and mentors—a fun, productive environment where kids can relax, focus, and thrive. As members of the Marin community since 2007, Sage is committed to serving kids with the very best tutoring and test-prep to fit their individual needs. At our offices in Mill Valley and Larkspur, students are supported from the beginning of their academic experience through graduation.
Here, students receive the individualized support they need from a team of specialized, full-time tutors devoted to each student’s success…in the classroom and beyond.
What makes a great educator? We believe it’s a synthesis of knowledge, passion, compassion, and humor—and each of our full-time instructors has been selected to contribute to this dynamic. At Sage, we’re in a unique position to convey the lessons and ideals that may be ignored when coming from Mom, Dad, or other authority figures. Though we often have fun at the office, we don’t take our role lightly. We’ve built our track record of fostering confident, motivated students by serving as their teachers, role models, and friends. Sage Educators Founders William and Jaime Heaps
At Sage, we are personally invested in each student’s success… this is our commitment to our kids, and our promise to you.
“Sage is more than a place for students to study: it’s a community centered on our kids. We believe that the most important aspect of teaching is making a connection with each individual student, and we build on these connections to increase our kids’ confidence, motivation, and knowledge.” —Sage Educators Co-Founder Jaime Heaps, B.A., Virginia Tech University, M.A., University of Amsterdam
“Anyone can learn and succeed in the right one-on-one setting. We know that in smaller classes, kids do better. At Sage, our excellent, experienced tutors provide classes of one, and our students reap the benefits.” —Sage Educators Co-Founder William Heaps, B.A., Virginia Tech University, M.A., University of Amsterdam
Sage Educators Culture
Sage is more than a tutoring center, it’s a community of students and mentors.
Our educators come from diverse backgrounds with a range of specialized education from across the globe.
Just like our tutors, our interests, and activities extend beyond tutoring.
Sage Educators Approach
Behind our mission to help each student reach his or her own academic goals, we believe that the best way to learn is one-on-one. Period. Learning is personal. Everyone learns differently. What works for Jim doesn’t necessarily work for Sue. Teachers have been charged with doing more than is possible in a classroom setting. They can’t explain every point 30 or 300 different ways. The student-teacher relationship is pivotal in determining how a student approaches learning, and how well that student will learn.
Sage Educators Foundation
We believe that all students should have fair and equal access to education and academic programming. In an effort to give back to the community in more direct and meaningful ways, the Sage Scholarship Program was created in 2014. In order to extend our reach and programming, we founded Sage Educators Foundation in 2017. Sage Educators Foundation promotes educational equity by funding academic programs for k-12 students in need, regardless of age, race, religion, or socioeconomic status. Together, we’re arming our youth with the tools and resources to lead positive, productive lives.
Sage Service Club
At Sage Educators, it is our goal to give back to the local community while making meaningful connections with the people and places around us through volunteering and community service. In an effort to engage with the community in dynamic ways, students and teachers at Sage Educators volunteer with the Parks Conservancy, the nonprofit sector of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.
Sage Educators
Our dynamic educators are experts in their field(s) of study. Beyond that, they are kind, funny, inquisitive, inclusive, and compassionate. Our educators are the cornerstone of our business and we think they’re pretty great (and we know you will too).
